Overview & role
In 2015, as part of an invention initiative at REA, I proposed we explore For Sale By Owner (FSBO) to see if we could make it work with our current business strategy. My pitch was selected and I was tasked with bootstrapping a small team with limited budget to produce something for market.
Problem & opportunity
FSBO listings were on the rise in Australia and around the world with between 8-10% of total homes sold in the USA annually by owners. We also saw a chance to try a new mobile prime home management experience.
